SO.... HOW DID WE GET HERE?

OUR HISTORY

Ripple Hauxs was created in a moment when our community needed protection and belonging more than ever. After the 2024 election cycle made the landscape even more dangerous for BIPOC trans and immigrant people in Florida, it became clear that we needed something real something lasting something built by us.

When Stxph Viana arrived in Orlando in December 2024, they came with one mission to build a sanctuary that would outlast the political cycles working against us. What began as small gatherings and borrowed spaces quickly grew into a movement rooted in meals, movement, creativity, and community care.

In August 2025 we secured our first official sanctuary space. Since then Ripple Hauxs has continued to operate on a one hundred percent volunteer basis. Every program, every meal, every training, every piece of safety support is carried by our artists, our leaders, and our community members who show up for each other with consistency and love. Our board and creative team work across the calendar to make sure the sanctuary stays active safe and nourishing.

With formal membership opening in August, our community grew to more than one hundred forty people in just a few months. This growth is a sign of need and trust. Ripple Hauxs has become a home a gym a kitchen a studio a classroom a refuge during a time when our people are being pushed out of public life.

Ripple Hauxs exists to make sure our people are not erased. It exists to create something durable and community shaped that no election or policy can take from us. We are building the future our people deserve and we are doing it together.

Our story is still unfolding with every member who joins every meal we serve every event we host and every moment of safety we teach. This is the ripple we are creating in Central Florida, a sanctuary led by our people for our people and because of our people.
